Professor Vicky Pryce
chief economic adviser and board member, Centre for Economics and Business Research; author, How to be a Successful Economist

Professor Vicky Pryce is chief economic adviser at the Centre for Economics and Business Research. She sits on the advisory board of OMFIF, the central banking consultancy and think tank. She is Chair of the Economic Advisory Council of the British Chambers of Commerce, a board member and Chair of Fellows at Radix/Big Tent, and a Visiting Professor at King’s College, London.

Her previous posts have included being director-general for economics at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and joint head of the UK Government’s Economic Service. Before that, she was chief economist and partner at KPMG after senior economic positions in banking and the energy sector. She is a fellow of the Royal Economic Society,a fellow and previous council member of the Academy of Social Sciences, a companion of the British Academy of Management , and a Fellow of  the Society of Professional Economists.

Her recent books include: Redesigning Manufacturing (Routledge 2015); Why Women Need Quotas (Biteback 2015); Greekonomics (Biteback 2013); It’s the Economy, Stupid: economics for voters (Biteback 2015); Prisonomics (Biteback, 2015); and Women vs Capitalism (Hurst, 2019). Her latest book, How to be a Successful Economist,  (Oxford University Press, 2022).
