Rosie Kay
dancer; choreographer; CEO and artistic director, K2CO LTD; co-founder, Freedom in the Arts

K2CO, led by Rosie Kay, is a bold, female-led dance company creating politically relevant contemporary dance theatre. A Thing of Beauty, featuring Adult Female Dancer and Fantasia, has received 4-star reviews from the Times and the Spectator, praised for its physicality, honesty, and striking choreography. Rosie’s multi-award-winning works, including 5 SOLDIERS and MK ULTRA, combine storytelling, research, and extraordinary movement. K2CO will tour A Thing of Beauty across the UK in summer 2025.
In 2023, Rosie Kay and Denise Fahmy co-founded Freedom in the Arts, an organisation dedicated to protecting artists and safeguarding freedom of expression within the creative sector. In an era where artistic voices can be constrained by ideological or institutional pressures, FITA provides support, advocacy, and guidance for artists navigating challenges to their creative autonomy. The organisation works with arts institutions to defend the right to create, debate, and program work freely, ensuring that bold, challenging, or controversial projects can thrive.
Through research, toolkits, and public engagement, FITA promotes an environment where diverse ideas and artistic practices can coexist, fostering a culture of open dialogue, experimentation, and fearless creation. By championing free expression, FITA aims to strengthen the arts as a vital, vibrant space for society to reflect, challenge, and imagine.
