Jon Bryan is a gambling writer and a recreational poker player. He has played poker all of his adult life, and cashed in a World Series of Poker event in 2024. He has been writing about gambling since 2017.

Frustrated with the dominant narrative on gambling, Jon’s writing centres the experience of the player. He writes regularly for SlotsHawk and on Substack, and has also written for spiked, Gambling Insider, and made appearances on the media, including Sky News, Sky Racing, GB News, and the BBC. He is the author of “Risking It All: the freedom to gamble”
