Rachel has spent most of her working life in the UK higher-education sector, in a variety of roles and institutions. She is a fourth-generation Labour Party activist who feels thoroughly aggrieved that the left has abandoned her. Having grown up listening to the BBC and reading the Guardian, she now wonders what else she was wrong about.
