Dr John Armstrong
reader in financial mathematics, King’s College London; founding member, London Universities’ Council for Academic Freedom

John Armstrong is a reader in financial mathematics at King’s College London and a founder member of London Universities’ Council for Academic Freedom. He has published on equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives in mathematics and science in the British Educational Research Journal and the British Journal of Sociology of Education and has written on higher education policy for Times Higher Education. He is interested in the way that EDI has been used to introduce ideas from critical theory into science curricula, and argues that it would be better to reverse the process and introduce ideas from science into EDI.
