Vivek Haria
composer, London Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Piatti Quartet; writer on art, technology and culture

Vivek Haria is a British composer and writer of Indian heritage, based in London. His works have been performed by ensembles including members of the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and also the Piatti Quartet, when he was a finalist in Conway Hall’s Clements Prize in 2021.
Vivek has composed new work for the internationally renowned players Mahan Esfahani and Fenella Humphreys, which was premiered as part of the Cheltenham Composer Academy in 2022. Most recently, he has written for players in the London Symphony Orchestra, as an associate in the Orchestra’s Soundhub scheme.
He read music at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he studied composition with Raymond Yiu and Richard Causton. He continues to be mentored by Brian Elias.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Vivek is an emerging writer exploring the intersection of art, technology and culture. His upcoming foray into reviews, articles, and interviews will delve into the music industry, cultural appropriation, and the evolving role of technology in the arts. Meanwhile, Vivek is also training to become a chartered accountant.
