Simon Nash
environmentalist; speaker; activist and founder, Green Oil bicycle lubes

Simon Nash studied philosophy and politics at Southampton University focusing on ethics, religion and critical thinking. Later, he gained a masters degree in strategic entrepreneurship, with a focus on business ethics. At university, he founded Green Action (now Campus Collective) in response to the university’s removal of paper recycling bins. The recycling bins came back!
Simon founded Green Oil, the world’s first eco-friendly bike lube company in response to the polluting PTFE and petroleum based oils. And to kickstart, he closed loop recycling, launching the UK’s first 100-per-cent recycled plastic bottle within any industry in 2010. Simon successfully lobbied for the plastic tax, which makes recycled content mandatory in most plastic bottles today. Simon is a Christian (not the Trump type) and runs Green Drinks London, a free-speech event for people to speak on green issues and to meet other environmentalists.
Simon has worked with Greenwhich Mencap, Greenwhich University and has spoken on green business and the environment on LBC Radio, at Friends of the Earth and as a guest on BBC World News. Simon is also a free-speech advocate, lobbying against Safe Spaces within environmental groups, which have recently been used to stifle free speech and critical thinking. Simon is proud to support Sustrans and the London Cycling Campaign for a greener future.
