Simon Fanshawe OBE
consultant and writer; author The Power of Difference ; co-founder, Diversity by Design

Simon Fanshawe OBE is a diversity consultant, broadcaster and author. He is the co-founder of Diversity by Design and a diversity dissident.
Simon believes in the power of diversity, he just thinks it needs to be released from being used as cover for enforcing conformity, and ‘inclusion’ from being used to exclude. Which is why his latest book was called The Power of Difference, the Chartered Institute of Management’s Book of 2023. He was voted the second Most Influential Thinker in 2022 by HR Magazine and inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2023.
He is currently on the board of Powerful Women and is chairman of Hexagon Housing Association.
He was a co-founder of Stonewall and is therefore rather disappointed and bereaved at its current state (after having all that success in achieving equality)
He was awarded an OBE in 2013 for services to higher education and made an honorary doctor of the University of Sussex for services to diversity and human rights.
