Dr Remi Adekoya
lecturer of politics, University of York; author It’s Not About Whiteness, It’s About Wealth and Biracial Britain

Dr Remi Adekoya is a politics lecturer at the University of York. Before joining academia, Remi was a journalist and has written on various socio-political issues for the Guardian, Sunday Times, New Statesman, Washington Post, Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, Politico, Spectator, Evening Standard, and UnHerd among others.

He has provided political analysis and commentary for CNN, BBC, Sky News, Al Jazeera, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), African International Television (AIT), Radio France International (RFI), Talk Radio and Times Radio, among others.

Since 2021, he has been a member of the Home Office Strategic Race Board which was established following the Windrush Scandal. Remi is the author of Biracial Britain, which was published in 2021, while his latest book, which was published this year, is titled It’s Not About Whiteness, It’s About Wealth.
