Peter Hitchens

Peter Hitchens is a journalist, author and broadcaster. He was born 1951 and has spent 50 years in journalism, much of it in Fleet Street. Peter was a former education reporter, industrial reporter, political reporter, defence correspondent, resident correspondent in Moscow and Washington and has reported from 57 countries including North Korea, Iran, Somalia, China, Burma, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Cuba, Venezuela and the Falkland islands. A former Marxist-Leninist, he is now a social and moral conservative, but hostile to the Tory Party.
Peter is author of A Revolution Betrayed: how egalitarians wrecked the British education system (2023), The Abolition of Britain: from Winston Churchill to Theresa May (2018), The War We Never Fought: the British establishment’s surrender to drugs (2016) and The Broken Compass: how British politics lost its way (2009). He lives in Oxford.
