Munira Mirza

Munira Mirza was the director of the No 10 Policy Unit between 2019-2022, and served previously as a deputy mayor for London. She studied English at Oxford University, earned a PhD in sociology at the University of Kent, and has worked in government, academia, business and the cultural sectors. She writes and speaks regularly in the media and has published several works, including The Politics of Culture: the case for universalism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011). She has served on the boards of the Royal Opera House, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Royal College of Music and the West London Children’s Zone.
