Josephine Hussey
school teacher, AoI Education Forum

Josephine moved into education later in life having worked for some years in the law. She has a degree in early childhood studies, and completed her PGCE at the Faculty of Education, Cambridge University.

She has experience in early years and KS1 and is currently teaching in KS2 with a mixed aged year 5/6 class in a village primary school in Cambridgeshire. She is involved in the Education Forum for the Academy of Ideas and the group Don’t Divide Us, having most recently helped produce lessons for use in primary schools on anti-racism, with the aim of focusing on what people have in common, rather than what separates them.

Josephine also contributed to the People’s Lockdown Enquiry, What Price Lockdown?, published in June 2021, curated by the Academy of Ideas, recording her experience as a primary-school teacher during Lockdown due to COVID-19.
