John Oxley
writer, New Statesman, Spectator,and UnHerd; consultant; barrister

John is a political commentator and consultant. Following the success of his breakout blog, ‘The Problem with The Conservative Party’, he has become a regular contributor to a range of publications including the New Statesman, the Spectator and UnHerd. He also publishes his own Substack, Joxley Writes, which has rapidly become one of the most influential and well-read blogs on the right of British politics.

He read history at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, before qualifying as a barrister. He spent several years practising family law before moving into business strategy, first in the legal sector and then beyond. He now combines writing and broadcasting with providing strategy and communications advice to a range of private clients.
