Jennie Bristow
senior lecturer in sociology, Canterbury Christ Church University; author, The Corona Generation: coming of age in a crisis and Growing up in Lockdown

Jennie is senior lecturer in sociology at Canterbury Christ Church University and an associate of the Centre for Parenting Culture Studies.
She is author of a number of books about generational relations and conflict: most recently, The Corona Generation: coming of age in a crisis (Zer0 books 2020), which she wrote with her daughter, Emma Gilland, during the first Lockdown; and the pamphlet Growing up in Lockdown (Letters on Liberty, 2021). Jennie is also author of Stop Mugging Grandma: the ‘generation wars’ and why Boomer-blaming won’t solve anything (Yale University Press 2019); The Sociology of Generations: new directions and challenges (Palgrave Macmillan 2016); Baby Boomers and Generational Conflict (Palgrave Macmillan 2015); and Standing Up to Supernanny (Imprint Academic 2009).
Jennie is co-author of Generational Encounters with Higher Education: the academic-student relationship and the university experience (Bristol University Press 2020) with Sarah Cant and Anwesa Chatterjee, and co-author of Parenting Culture Studies (Palgrave Macmillan 2014) and Licensed to Hug (Civitas 2010).
