Harriet Rudd
infant-feeding specialist; trainee Lactation Consultant

Harriet is an infant-feeding specialist on a busy postnatal ward in an NHS hospital, supporting women to establish breastfeeding. She trained as a breastfeeding peer supporter after struggling to breastfeed her third child 11 years ago. Harriet runs breastfeeding antenatal classes for her NHS Trust and free Beginning Breastfeeding sessions.
Harriet is passionate about supporting women to meet their breastfeeding goals. She is also interested in the social and cultural barriers which have left the UK with the lowest breastfeeding rates in the world. Currently training as a Lactation Consultant, Harriet advocates passionately for the needs of women and children in a cultural atmosphere which is increasingly hostile to those needs.
