Graham Linehan
creator and co-creator, Father Ted, Black Books and The IT Crowd; comedy writer, Count Arthur Strong, Brass Eye and The Fast Show; author, Tough Crowd: How I Made and Lost a Career in Comedy

Graham Linehan has created some of the most popular comedy shows on British TV. Graham created or co-created the sitcoms Father Ted (1995–1998), Black Books (2000–2004), The IT Crowd (2006–2013), and Count Arthur Strong (2013-2017). He has also written for Brass Eye and The Fast Show. Father Ted was voted by Channel 4 viewers as the ‘best programme ever’ on Channel 4.
Graham is a public defender of women’s rights, a critic of the excesses of Trans activism and a proponent of free speech. As a result, Graham was at one point suspended from Twitter and been ‘cancelled’ from his own musical. Hat Trick, the production company for Father Ted – The Musical, has refused to put the show on in the West End unless Graham agrees to remove his name from the credits, which he has refused to do.
Graham’s book, Tough Crowd: How I Made and Lost a Career in Comedy, was published in September 2023 by Eye Books.
