Dr Carole Sherwood is a retired clinical psychologist. She worked in the NHS specialising in sexual health, chronic pain, cancer, and trauma. She has grown increasingly concerned about the incursion of Critical Social Justice ideology into clinical psychology and the wider therapeutic field.
In 2022, she co-authored an independent report, The Politicisation of Clinical Psychology Training Courses in the UK, with Dr Kirsty Miller. She is one of the authors of Cynical Therapies: Perspectives on the Anti-therapeutic Nature of Critical Social Justice, edited by Dr Val Thomas and published in 2023.
Dr Sherwood is co-director of Critical Therapy Antidote, an organisation committed to preserving the healing ethos of therapy. She is also a member of the advisory council of Don’t Divide Us, the UK’s common-sense voice on race.
