Miriam Elia is a satirical visual artist, hailing from North London. Her diverse work includes short films, animations, illustrated books, prints, drawings and surreal radio writing.

She is best known for her art books We Go To The Gallery, in which the classic Peter and Jane ladybird book characters grapple with conceptual art and We Do Lockdown where children are forcibly adapted to the ‘new normal’, where a joyless existence is heroically embraced to save humanity.

Miriam graduated with a Master’s degree from Royal College of Art in 2006 after having completed a BA in graphic design in Brighton. In 2008 she was nominated for a prestigious Sony Award for her debut BBC Radio 4 sketch show A Series Of Psychotic Episodes, a surreal comedy series.

Miriam’s forthcoming Book 2B We See the Sights will be published on September 2022. Miriam’s The Dung Beetle Lockdown Souvenir Plate (Limited Edition 200) solo show is available at dungbeetlebooks.com
