Nicholas lectures on a number of programmes within the School of Education at the University of Derby, and has also lectured in history at the University of Keele. As assistant programme leader for Derby’s International PGCE programme, he is aware of global angles and complexities in the ‘culture wars’ phenomenon – different ‘culture wars’ are waged in different places for different reasons. Such conflicts are often amplified and internationalised through digital media. They can become both a core ingredient in digital identity and a danger to it, and that danger frequently spills over into ‘real’ life.

Nicholas does not do social media.

Of course, like anyone else, he might or might not be a naughty person who anonymously echoes misinformation that endangers the vulnerable. You never know how close you’re standing to an online harm.
