Callum Breese
freelance writer

Callum Breese is a freelance writer whose writing has dealt with free speech, identity politics and the corruption of academic freedom on university campuses. Through his writing endeavours, he has been published on news outlets like The Equiano Project and spiked. He is also involved in the Free Speech Champions Network and has been published for second edition of The New Taboo magazine.

A fundamental believer in the community and being an avid campaigner for Brexit, Callum believes the vote to leave the European Union would hopefully revitalise democratic engagement from the ground level bringing agency, autonomy and a chance for the working-classes to seize the day in their own interests. It is because of this that Callum’s next port of interest is to learn more about the forgotten communities of the United Kingdom, through speaking and documenting the lives and voices of its people living in order to see the realities and hardships behind the narrative of the mainstream media.

Outside of writing, Callum has worked with the Battle of Ideas festival and Debating Matters project on a volunteer basis. He is a die-hard Sheffield Wednesday fan, and a follower of boxing and UFC, spending his free time arguing with fellow Owls.
