Josephine Hussey
school teacher; theatre lover

Josephine loves the theatre and has been attending performances ever since she could either persuade someone to buy her a ticket or pay for it herself. When celebrating a milestone birthday she spent the year attending over 30 different performances and was lucky enough to see Hamilton on Broadway. When she was younger, she did audition for drama school but was one of the unfortunate ones not to be accepted so has spent her time enjoying drama as an amateur.

Josephine has belonged to many groups in London, including the celebrated South London Theatre Centre in West Norwood and she was chair of Huntingdon Drama Group, a local group in Cambridgeshire where she acts and directs. She has also acted with Shakespeare at the George, the local Shakespeare company in Huntingdon. As a keen organiser and attender of the theatre, Josephine has always been interested in how theatre is and has changed, from the movement away from box sets to the way music and lighting is used as well as the content and casting choices that are being made today.
