Dr Shibley Rahman
special advisor on disability; carer; member, Royal College of Physicians of London

Dr Shibley Rahman is a family carer of an individual with advanced dementia, which informs his experience of the NHS and social care systems. He is disabled, and works part-time as a special advisor in disability. He graduated with a first in neuroscience from Cambridge, where he also completed his phd in dementia. Dr Rahman is a member of the carers’ council in a London trust, and a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London, and has a robust academic interest in frailty, delirium and the dementias. He also completed his postgraduate degrees in law and business management in London, and is currently doing a Masters in medical education at the University of Nottingham.
