Alka is an experienced educator. She has worked in different educational settings, from supplementary primary schools to tutoring at Cambridge University, and as an educational researcher. She is a member of the Academy of Ideas Education Forum and sits on the editorial committee of History Reclaimed. She writes on educational and cultural issues for professional and academic publications and is co-editor and contributor of What Should Schools Teach? Disciplines, subjects and the pursuit of truth.
