Catherine McBride

Catherine is a free market economist who worked in financial services for 20 years, trading and advising clients on international equity and commodity markets. She campaigned for Brexit, ran the Brexit Coalition in the run up to the 2019 election and has worked in various think tanks, including the Financial Services Negotiation Forum; the Legatum Institute; the Institute of Economic Affairs; and the Centre for Brexit Policy. Writing primarily on financial service regulation, trade, and agriculture, she is a regular contributor on the websites Briefings for Britain and BrexitWatch, occasional commentator on BBC World Business Report, TRT World, Al Jazeera and GB News. Catherine has recently written a paper for Global Britain on UK food policy called ‘Cooking up a storm’.
