Austin Williams

Austin Rhys Williams is the director of the Future Cities Project in London. He is also the China correspondent for the Architectural Review. His latest books are China’s Urban Revolution: Understanding Chinese Eco-cities (Bloomsbury, 2017) and 20 Chinese Architects (Thames & Hudson, 2019).

He is senior lecturer at Dept of Architecture, Kingston University, UK and honorary research fellow at Xi’an-Jiaotong Liverpool University in China.

Williams is the author of several books, including The Enemies of Progress, and co-editor of The Future of Community and The Lure of the City. He co-founded the mantownhuman manifesto and is chair of the Bookshop Barnies.
