Mark Richards has spent his career in the literary imprints of large publishing companies – Fourth Estate to begin with, and latterly John Murray. He publishes both fiction – generally literary, with some genre – and non-fiction. In 2015 he set up JM Originals, a list specifically for books with literary merit but uncertain commercial prospects. His writers include Andrew Michael Hurley, Lisa McInerney, Mick Herron and Jessie Greengrass.
