Christopher Beckett

Chris has just finished his NQT year at Holy Family Catholic School in Walthamstow, East London, and is a qualified teacher of religious education. This continues with a career in education following previous posts at a private tuition agency and a boarding school. He has a deep interest in education, pedagogy and the direction of contemporary education.
Although currently living in London, Chris is a founding member of the Liverpool Salon. He has written for spiked and was a researcher for the Free Speech University Rankings launch. He has been involved with the Battle of Ideas festival as a volunteer, speaker and chair since 2011, and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Camille Paglia at the Battle of Ideas in 2017.
Chris holds an MA in sociology from the University of Liverpool where he focused on higher education and infantilisation, and completed his BA at the University of Sheffield.
