Jon Holbrook
barrister; writer, spiked, the Critic, The Conservative Woman

As a barrister, Jon has frequently argued in court over the care of elderly patients, an experience highlighting the problem of laws that favour the human right of ‘liberty’ over the human need for good care. He is generally a conservative sceptic of liberal social policy which emphasises legal rights over human interests and needs.
Jon has written for several publications including spiked, the Critic and The Conservative Woman. In 2014 he was shortlisted by the legal publisher, Halsbury, for their legal journalism award. He is currently UKIP’s free speech spokesman and his website is www.jonholb.com.
